Programs and Purpose

YFC Altona is a non-profit organization committed to serving the youth in our community. We believe that every person who walks through our doors has been created by God with immeasurable value and purpose. We offer a space where teens feel safe and given the opportunity to grow in their character and abilities. Whether a youth enjoys spending time with friends at drop-in, being creative in the makerspace, gaming, attending a special event or much more, we are dedicated to supporting our youth, and creating a space where everyone wants to be.

We are able to offer a wide range of programs and events by having amazing staff and volunteers dedicating their time and effort to support our local youth. We know that the youth of today affected and going thorough a lot and we want to help in any way we can. The best way we can help those around us is to share the love of Jesus with everyone in meaningful and practical ways. We uphold Christian beliefs and values, and every youth is invited and welcomed at YFC Altona regardless of their personal faith/beliefs.

Sentry Gaming Program

There’s no doubt that many youth (and adults) enjoy gaming. While we know that like anything else this can become an unhealthy passion. We are not promoting an unhealthy lifestyle, but rather a community of gamers who want to interact with one another. That’s why our monthly LAN parties and other gaming events are so important to us. It provides a space where youth can game together in person, participate in events together and make new friendships. Many of the people who attend our gaming events, do not regularly participate in other YFC Altona programs, so having a space to make connections and mentor youth through the connections made at our gaming events is very important to us. In everything that we do at YFC, we want all youth to know and experience the love of Jesus that we are called to exemplify. Gaming can open the door to meaningful relationships, discussion, and discipleship and we at YFC Altona are here to support the youth of our community.
